 BoomerTECH Adventures’ original course, “Hidden Gems Lurking in Your iPhone & iPad” explained many options on iPhones/iPads often unknown to users. This course reveals additional iPhone/iPad features that will help you utilize your devices to their highest potential. The videos demonstrate how to access and use these features. Some of the features you will explore include a robust tour of Siri, suggestions for organizing apps, additional details about privacy issues, and an explanation of widgets. The beauty of the BoomerTECH Adventures’ courses is that they are designed to fits the learning needs of the participant. Stop and restart the videos at your own pace. Rewatch sections as needed. Map & Compass Level 1

Hike, snowshoe, geocache, hunt, and enjoy the woods and fields of Maine with confidence that you can read a topographic map, plot a course bearing, understand the symbols, which way the river flows, and how to get to safety. Introduction to using a compass and map outdoors included.

Students will be required to "buy" their online course textbook at www.mainee-learning.com by using a unique coupon. Inside the course will be the Zoom invitation.


Each student will need a baseplate 2 degree compass for class.

Instant Piano for Hopelessly Busy People

In just a few hours, you can learn enough secrets of the trade to give you years of musical enjoyment. Learn to play piano the way professionals do-using chords. Since this class is being held online with Zoom, you will be able to sit at your piano or keyboard at home and take this course with no pressure at all. And since this course includes an online book and online follow up video lessons, you will be able to continue your practice and study on your own.

An optional periodic online question and answer session is also included. A recording of the class is included as well.

The course is partly lecture/demonstration and partly hands on instruction.

  • How to form the three main types of chords
  • How to handle different keys and time signatures

Registered Maine Guide Training

Train to become a working Registered Maine Guide, not just a test taker. Learn the skills that guides use daily including: map & compass, coastal navigation, shelter building, separated client searches, cooking, canoeing, snowshoeing, SUP’ng, plus specialty skills for sea kayaking, fishing, and hunting.

This hybrid program includes Zoom, all day workshops, and homework assignments. Students need access to a computer/tablet with audio and video capabilities, a printer, and a 2 degree base plate compass at the minimum. Depending on what specialty the student wants to become as a Registered Maine Guide, they may need more. A complete list will be provided directly to the students.

Taking Awesome Pictures With Your iPhone/iPad Camera

This is a step-by-step guide to taking beautiful photos, appropriate for novice photographers and anyone who wants to significantly upgrade their photography skills. Students will learn to take photos, portraits, slo-motion, panos, and more. Also students will learn about camera settings for proper focus and exposure, High Dynamic Range, and picture composition.

Acadian Arts Watercolor Retreat

Old River House Kennebunkport, Maine

March 24-27, 1 PM Friday - 1 PM Monday

$495 includes workshop and all meals

Your instructor, Mary Laury, is an accomplished watercolorist and highly esteemed teacher. She encourages all her students to believe they can be successful. And they are! Watercolor Painting is an exciting medium; it flows and moves and does beautiful things. If you have never painted in watercolors, we will start at the beginning. If you have painted before, you will pick up some new tips and tricks as well. We all learn together!

Escape to a 19th Century coastal country inn, The Old River House, with an intimate group of artists and cooks! All meals are included in the workshop fee as well as specially planned optional evening activities designed to extend your learning from the day’s workshops. Day students are welcome.
